ABB Manuals collection

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd create a collection of manuals here on the forums, for easy access.

If you need a manual, please write a request in this thread and I'll try to accommodate.

Let's see if it'll be possible to keep this thread alive! :)

You can always access the latest versions of these manuals at https://library.abb.com/
Please note that many manuals can only be found after logging in using credentials retrieved via your local ABB contacts.
If you use the search function without being logged in, more often than not the results will be less than mediocre.

Best regards,
Maxim

Application manual for SafeMove2 from September 2020.

Why application manuals are not availible in "public" ABB Library is so strange.
  • It's uploaded.

I agree that application manuals should be public. I'm trying to make it so, but in the meanwhile.. this is the "workaround".

Added the OPC-UA manual to the collection.
  • Hi - using my iPad to search the forum. Where are the manuals mentioned? I am looking for the OPC-UA manual for RobotStudio 2021.

It is there in the first post by Maxim.

  • Ah. They do not show up on my iPad. Fine on phone and PC. Thank you.
  • I need a Baseware user's guide for the Robotware RW5.15.  Very similar to the one for 4.0. the 3HAC050941 doesn't explain how to configure a Digital IO unit. particularly  looking to add a DSQC652 that came with a used robot I bought, but I reset it and now I need to add it again.

  • Where could I find a technical reference manual 3HAC050948-001 ?

  • ABB Library. But make sure to login, otherwise the search results will be "incomplete".

  • when I try to login, I get redirected to a Microsoft account login. Am I supposed to use my Microsoft credentials to access the ABB document library? That seems odd to me.

No MS login needed. Sign up for an account here:

  • Thank you
  • What happened to the Omnicore Operating Manual? I couldn't find any Operating Manual in the ABB documentation library and I had to resort to some random website to get some older version (Document ID: 3HAC065036-001).  I find such documents really useful to get started with our IRB14050 robot and I wonder why there's nothing like that on the official ABB documentation website. All I can find are Product Manuals but they are only about installation, maintenance etc. while what I'd need is a practical guide about using the robot instead such as the one I downloaded elsewhere.

That manual requires you to login to the ABB Library.
It's now available in the top post.

  • I registered a month ago and I still get this message after logging in: Your myABB registration is still in progress if you need immediate assistance please contact your ABB representative or the ABB Contact Center. The link can be found in the footer of this page.
Anyway I can access and download documentation but I can't find the manual you just added to the collection, even when typing its title or its ID 3HAC065036-001.
    Thanks for sharing it BTW!

  • It's the bottom right one, or the last one.
Or, how many manuals do you see in the first post? I see 18 in total.

  • Sorry, I didn't make it clear: I downloaded the document from your post (which is super useful!). What I meant is I can't find it in library.abb.com (ABB Library Download Center). Shouldn't it be available there? I mean, isn't it supposed to host all the available documetation?
  • It is available there, but it's only available after you log in.

I really don't know. Maybe something's broken in the registration process? I am logged in at library.abb.com but apparently I can't access some documentation and my dashboard is empty. Searching for the document ID or the document title doesn't return what I expect (image link https://imgur.com/a/CMb0wqX )

Also when logging in I get redirected to some microsoftonline.com auth website and than back to abb when this first auth attempt fails. Thank I can login with the email|password chosen when signing in. All the process is really confusing and not straightforward as expected. I'm not using a microsoft email or anything so I don't get why I get that detour nor what goes wrong with my abb account.
  • I would recommend you to get in touch with your local ABB and describe the issue and ask for support.

  • @Braap
Do you have a specific name or 3HAC number for the manual you're asking for?

  • I found it in the web.
    3HAC050995-003
    Thats the manual.

  • Great.

Yes, this manual should be available on ABB Library without needing to login.
