IRC5 Controller folders not visible in Filezilla

Hello everybody,

I have to write files on a IRC5 contoller with Filezilla.
I can connect to the controller, but the folders are not visible.

I receive the answer : 550 Permission denied

Is there some parameter which where I can set the access rights to FTP ?

Any idea ?

Thank you

  • In the link below there is a portion that deals with IRC5s and FileZilla Server.

    Hi SomeTekk,

my goal is not to download program or modules from the PC to the robot with Rapid instructions.
I just want to connect with Filezilla and download a data module from my PC to the controller, and afterwhile to be able to Load this data module from the HOME folder with Rapid instructions.

I can do it with the File transfer from RS, but finally my customer will have to downlaod some data to the controller without RS Licence.

In the normal times wityh other robots, I don't have such issue to have acce to the robot's folders via Filezilla.

PS : I've tried without any firewall or antivirus.

    Thanks

  • The IP address in your image seems to show you are using the Service/Management port. Perhaps FTP activities are NOT permitted (external to RS) through that port without the ftp option?

    Hi everybody,

I've tested the FTP connection on an other robot, wich hasn't the FTP 614-1 option.

I didn't have any issue to connect with the same settings (IP address : 192.168.125.1, User : ABB, Pwd : 007), I could also transfer files in the 2 ways.
I had total acces to all the folders and files.

It seems it's linked to the robot settings !

I've checked the UAS of my robot, I thought it could be the reason, but all the grants are activated.

  • From the RS Operating manual:

All the controllers have a preset group and preset user named Default Group and Default User respectively. The Default User has an open password robotics.

  • Have you tried downloading a backup from a working system into the control causing problems? Additionally, have you tried an I-Start on, or built a new system then cold started, the control with the issue?
  • I can do it with the File transfer from RS, but finally my customer will have to downlaod some data to the controller without RS Licence.

You should (and your customer) be able to FTP or just load a module even with an unlicensed version of RS.

  • Hi everybody,

I finally succeed to connect with my PC or the customer's production PC using Filezilla and other FTP Client (WS_FT) with the following setting :

IPv4 Config of my PC in DHCP.

On the controller, I use the service port 192.168.125.1 (with User : Default User et PWD : robotics)

I can put my Rapid module on the roobt's Home folder with a VBA macro.
