UIAlphaEntry and string lengths

It seems that since strings are limited to 80 characters, it should not be possible to enter a string into the UIAlphaEntry function that exceeds this capability.  The function does not limit this, and if you do go over length, it effectively hangs up the system.

Can anyone else verify that this is the case?
