Rapid Memory Limit
Hello all,
I am working with some very large RAPID modules, and though Load/Unload works OK, I would like to increase the total amount of RAPID memory on the controller. I know that just increasing the RAM size will not accomplish this. Is there another way to allocate RAPID memory? Is the pendant displaying the correct numbers?
Thanks!

I did a little more digging and found a comment in the manuals saying "additional hardware and software changes" are necessary to increase rapid memory size. Does anyone have any further insight?

HiI believe you are not using all modules continuously so you can load instruction when particular module is required later when not required unload them. For eg: Load \Dynamic, "HOME:/******.MOD";Br/rakesh0

Sadly this is not an option, we are running fairly advanced weld process code that would require and I-start to Load/unload instructions. I have actually received some feedback from ABB Sweden in regards to this issue. There is currently a "hard coded" limit on memory, but there is a chance this limit could be expanded in future releases of robotware.rakesh kadian said:HiI believe you are not using all modules continuously so you can load instruction when particular module is required later when not required unload them. For eg: Load \Dynamic, "HOME:/******.MOD";Br/rakesh

Unfortunately you can not change the memory allocation in the current IRC5 platform (SW/HW).
