IRC5 teachpendant will not foward or run to a cursor selected position

Hello Abb world,

I am new to ABB, we just got an IRC5 single. We are unable to foward or run to a cursor selected position. Eveverything else is working. No alarms and can jog robot manually. When we put pp to cursor on a move line in any routine, everything functions as it should but wont foward when pressing foward button. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

The entire membrane could be bad, or disconnected inside.  Best to see about a warranty replacement or service call under warranty.

  • Can you PPtoMain?  ARe there any syntax errors?  Debug, check program.

  • I can PPtoMain. Checked program, no errors.
  • Please elaborate what you mean by "IRC5 single".  A single robot connected to controller or single axis connected to controller?
    Lee Justice
  • A single robot to controller and only 1 robot task.
  • So what happens if you put the program pointer to a non-motion instruction?  How about when you press the start button?  Or the backwards button?  Maybe the forward button is bad.

  • The start or backward buttons will not work. With no errors we are starting to think its wiring inside pendant
  • We just received a new pendant. Everything is working. Thanks for the help
  • Excellent!
