Barcode Scanner connect via com part RS-232

I would like to connect a barcode scanner directly (no plc) via a com port (RS232) to read job part numbers.

could anyone tell me how to setup the port and the group input please?

    I assume I will need to use a barcode scanner that supports serial and socket communication?

    Can someone clarify the setup for Socket Data communication? Or point me to the correct manual?
