Hello

Can we use excel file data or other data in RS?

We want to create targets from such data file.

    Dear Yu,

    Excel data cannot be used directly in RS. But, as a workaround, I would recommend you to create RAPID code from the data by some "Excel engineering", paste that code into a RAPID module, load the module in the VC, and sync to station.

    Remember, though, that the robtargets must be referenced by a Move-instruction to be synchronized to the station.

    Hi Yu,

    Next release of RobotStudio (RS 5.08) will contain VSTA (Visual Studio Tools for Application). With VSTA will you be able to write your own macros. So then will it be possible to write a macro that for example import data from Excel, and creates targets from it. The program language in VSTA will be Visual Basic and C#.
