Disk to USB converter

We purchased disk to USB converters from ABB at $200 + dollars a piece for our S4C controllers. They work intermittently at best. The software that was sent with them did not work with my windows 7 operating system so I found some from iPcas that did. I find myself reformatting the virtual disks and using black magic to get backups to work and to load systems. has anyone else used this conversion kit and if so what luck have you had?
