RobotStudio Profinet configuration

Dear Sirs,

We have an ABB IRB 2600 with IRC5 controller, and we want to use Profinet for the PLC communications (Siemens s7-1500). (we dont' have the robot yet)
I downloaded the trial version of RobotStudio 6, managed to configure the robot/controller and to add the Profinet card option. I made some points and did some simple RAPID functions to move between them.

What i didn't manage is to configure the Profinet telegram. I can add new variables to the Profinet card (if i use those in RAPID the simulation ends with error) but i don't know how to add information from the controller/drivers to the telegram (informaton like: MotorsOn, Manual, Automat etc).

Is there a PDF file or tutorial about this matter? Could you please spare some time to put me back on the right path?
I am very new to this, any help would mean a great deal to me.

  • If you Profinet Slave( 888-3 or 840-3) by default profinet slave device will be configured.
    All you need to do is to create signals. whenyou are communicating with PLC you to set the IP address from Simatic manager / TIA.
