Has anyone been able to set up CIP messaging from a compact logix to an irc5?

I need to send a string from a compactlogix to an IRC5. I'm trying to handle some recipe management and being able to use strings would be really helpful. I'm able to use a regular CIP generic "set attribute single" message to string registers on other robot systems. I'm just completely clueless as how how to pass this data on ABB. I'm hoping it's something silly I'm overlooking.Thanks in advance!
