Hi,

 <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I have some questions about the Webware function S4SaveLog. I want to make a Backup with errors file "elog.log" that file contains all the errors contained by topics, common, hardware, user, operational.etc., I don't know the number identifying the log type to be saved in a alone file.

Does another function exist to make that?.

Thank you,

Regards
Maria Jose

  • Here comes a list of log numbers:

    Log

This is the number that identifies which log triggered the event. These are the log numbers used by both the S4 control and the WebWare ActiveX controls.

    1 - System State Events

    2 - System Errors

    3 - Hardware Errors

    4 - RAPID Program Events

    5 - Motion Control Events/Errors

    6 - Operator Events

7 - IO and Communications Errors

    8 - S4 User Defined Events

    9 - Optional Product Events

    10 - S4 Internal Errors

    11 - Arcweld Events

    12 - Spotweld Events

    13 - Paint Events

    14 - PC Application Events

    15 - InterLink Events

    LogType

This is the number that identifies the type of the log event. The possible types are as follows:

    1 - State Change

    2 - Warning

    3 - Error

It would be great if you could clarify the rest of your question a bit.

  • Hello Maria,

for getting a backup with all the logs you can also use the S4Dump command, which will save automatically all error logs. So you do not need to save all logs separately.

On the other hand you can use a tool like S4Remote to get a backup including logs or not just 2 or 3 mouseclicks away....
