changing ext. axis values
Hi,
I have a part attached to an external axis with a path that travels around the circumfrence of the part. What I would like to do is leave the weld torch almost stationary in orientation above the part, as the part rotates circumfrentially.
The thing is, I have about 50 targets that make up the path, and each one would require a unique ext. axis value in order to accomplish this.
Rather than individually program each target ext axis value, does RS allow for a way to accomplish this automatically. I already have the orientation of the tool applied to each target, just not the ext axis data.
Thanks,
Brian

Hi
I think this stuff is included in the ArcWeld PowerPac(addin for RS) at least it was in RS4 (interpolate external axis values).
If you know how to write an addin to RS (in VB or C#) you could also write it by yourself(the math isn't that hard) or if you are lucky someone allready done it and will post it here.
