Robot Studio Attaching and Detaching Item
Hi,
I am working with Robot Studio 5.08 and do not know how to pick up an object and carry it around and then set it down, I am trying to simmulate paletizing, If some one could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,

Hi
You need to setup events using Even Manager found under simulation menu.
Take a look in the RS manual on Event Manager and I think you will be able to figure it out.Per Svensson

Hi,
Thanks, I did get I working, it works great... kind of I think I just need to tweek it a bit and it will be working well.
Thanks!

Hi guys!
I use event manager and it seems to me that there is a bug. When I start simulation the robot is not moving because one signal is not set up. But event manager is set up correctly.

Hi,
Can you explain more in detail how you have setup your event?
We have not get any other input about problems with the event manager, and I myself have setup several attach/detach simulations without problems.

This may be a idea that is impossible so I am kind of thinking out loud,
Is there a way in robot studio to simulate something in the event manager falling off of another object i.e., the plastic part that I grabed has excess plastic that is torn off, when it is torn off can I show it fall on to a conveyor and ride up the conveyor. If some one could reply telling me wheher or not that is possible that would be fantastic!
Thanks in Advance,

Hi Dustin
Thinking out loud usally make great ideas.
I have seen a company here in Sweden doing gravity simulation and it looked nice.
If you have been working with RS4 you can see the some of the future in the Cable simulator.
But in RS5 it's not possible yet to do gravity simulation. But if it's just a matter of say for example checking if there is a collision between the object you are carrying and something else it's possible to just drop that object if collision occurs. But you probably need to write some code in VSTA to make this happen.
