New to ABB

My company has purchased two used M94 robots that seem to have come

from the Oldsmobile Plant in Lansing, MI.   If anyone knows anyone who

worked that plant, I am sorry for your lose. We now have these robots and

have no experience with them. They appear to have been used as welding

robots and we want to use them to load steel castings into VMC's. They did

not come with any books, documentation or any help. Does anyone have

any advice, manuals hanging around, etc that would help this poor

maintenance mechanic with these robots? Oh did I mention our budget is 0

to nothing?

    I am new to robots also image I dont have any spare manuals but if you ever need help looking up something just message me.

    Welcome Laura.

    Let us know the robot models.
    I have no M94 controller manual, but maybe somebody have the manipulator manual, at least.
    You can find the model number on a label on the manipulator itself, near the serial number.

    I had 5 minutes to look at these ABB robots today. Operating system is 2.1

    rev 9 or rev 2, Rapid 9.8, and Tophet 2.1. I know these guys had a previous

    live as welding robots. We are looking at refurbishing them into material

    handling from a conveyor to two CNC machines then to another conveyor.

    And as most manufacturing in the south, we don't have money to have ABB

    do all this for us. The informaion I have gotten from some guys has been

    great and I am truely thankful. image

    Hey Laura,

    I've been working on our robot since february this year. Also a M94A from ABB.

    We bought a IRB 1400, that worked as a loader, and are refurbishing it into an ArcWeld Robot.

    I have many manuals, electric schematics, user guides. Let me now what your are looking for. ( robot type and s4 or s4+ ect....)

    Maybe we can even help eachother out... I'm looking for ArcWare software for my robot...
