We will look at a solution to a washing routine in one of our existing cells. The process will be that the robot puts detail on a fixture and the fixture in turn is attached to a cylinder that will go down and dip the part in a washbasin and then go up after a few seconds.
In my head I really only need a cylinder with a position sensor that is connected to the robot's I / O, so I will be able to send a signal where it should go into the water, when it has reached the bottom it starts a timer, goes up and when it has reached the upper position it is sent a clear signal to the robot?
Am I thinking wrong, have I missed something mechanical?
Relatively new in the profession anyway and never had to think about connecting new components to a system before.
