Networking Robots for easy access
Hi,
My company was intrested in networking the robots together for easy access since some of them are pretty far away, I would hope that doing this would enable us to make backups and work on our robots while being away from the robot. I was curious if you could just put a wireless nic card in the controller and configure it with that, since we have a wireless network. If this was possible how would we go about doing this? Has anyone else networked their robots?
Thanks in Advance,

No, you can't just put a wireless card in the controller, because there would be no driver for it in the RobotWare OS.
What you might try would be a wireless bridge that plugs into the LAN port and connects the robot to your wireless network that way.
If you are in a production environment, you would probably want to use industrial quality hardware rather than off-the-shelf. like NetGear or something.
