RobotStudio 2021 Simulation Interface for Allen Bradley plc

Hi forum,

We have a multi robot project using ABB robots. I am looking for an easy/quick way to integrate an Allen Bradley plc into my Robot Studio 2021 simulation. Even a simple plc simulation interface will do for now - as long as there won’t be too many changes required when needing to deploy code to the robot.

Can someone point me in the direction of where to start and a good way to setup the integration/interface?

You can achieve this with an OPC server. Check out the Application Manual - IRC OPC UA Server

Hello. 
In Robotstudio 2021.1 there is an OPC UA Client smart component for these purposes. 
Read the "Virtual commissioning using the OPC UA Client Smart Component" chapter in the Robotstudio manual for further information on how to use it.

Thanks Nic Olofsson. i saw the client - made up a plc then realised i needed additional software on my PC.
