PLC control and Robotic Coder

We are looking for an experienced PLC control and Robotics Coder to join our team. This role will take responsibility for programming from scratch and automation control and PLC design. Experience of Robotics within a manufacturing environment would be essential.

Applicants must have an understanding of safety circuits and will demonstrate a people person and team player mentality to be successful. 

The main responsibilities will include:

• Programming from scratch

• PLC control of robotics within a manufacturing setting

• Designing automatic robotic controls

• Creation and testing of machine-specific control programs with the aid of standard modules (PLC, HMI, SCADA, process technology, etc.) for all machine areas and overall line competence of standard systems.

• Customize and test custom software solutions using test controls before implementation in existing machines

• Ensure and test the full functionality of the machine

• Analyze malfunctions on machines, determine and implement corrective measures

• Documentation of robotic functionality such as manufacturing time, productivity, start up times etc.

• Using ABB RobotStudio

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (for experienced engineer)

• Experience with assembly plant install and commissioning activities for factory automation and/or end of line testing equipment is required

• Ability to take multiple data points for requirements and condense the various requirements into a solution

• PLC , HMI, Motion Controller programming

• Knowledge of basic electrical concepts, such as PNP and NPN switches

• Strong Electrical automation / control system knowledge.

• Robotic knowledge

• You will need to be a ‘hands on’ coder, fully conversant with modern manufacturing systems and able to work as a team and also unsupervised for extended periods of time.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes is preferred.

Salary range:

£30,000 – £40,000 PA salary dependant on experience
