Synchronization with Smart component

Is there a way that I can trigger the synchronize to station from a smart component?
In the station the Trace TCP is enabled and follows the know tcp in the station.
Now the tcp in the controller changes. In the station the Trace line still follows the last synchronized tcp. Can this be automated to update?
