virtual controller in AUTOMATIC after restart

Is there a way to prevent the virtual controller in RobotStudio from always being in AUTOMATIC mode after each restart - both RW6 and RW7 OMNICORE?
Even after every change in the RAPID EDITOR, the virtual controller always immediately switches to AUTOMATIC.
What is the point of this, dear developers? For me it is totally annoying and time consuming to switch back allways in TestMode for teach/adjust positions.
