IRC5 compact and DSQC-652 - outputs not working

Hello all,

Some background:

I have purchased a used IRB-140 (year 2015) with IRC5 compact controller. It has the factory installed DSQC-652 (DeviceNet Lean).

The connection for the DSQC is brought to the front panel with a D-sub 44 connector "XS7".

I received the wiring diagrams from ABB tech support and everything seems accurate compared to what I have in front of me.

The previous application used the Digital Inputs but did not use any of the Digital Outputs. The system came with a jumper preinstalled in the "XS10" connector across pins #2 & 5. Based on the circuit diagram (and verified with multimeter) this connects 0V from the DeviceNet power supply to the Digital Input circuitry (on the DSQC-652 connector "X3").

All of the Digital In circuits work fine. No problems here. But I cannot get any of the digital outputs to fire. I can look inside to see the status LEDS of the outputs but they do not turn on when I toggle them 0/1 on the teach-pendent. I have the outputs mapped to Digital Output address 0, 1, etc.

I have search online extensively for this problem and I see in a few places that I need to apply +24V to XS7 pin #10 and 0V to XS7 pin #9. The problem is that these pins on the D-sub connector do not actually attach to anything internally. Based on the circuit diagram, below, pins 9 and 10 on XS7 are indeed not connected to anything. I have verified that the two wires coming from the X2 connector do trace over to pins #3 and 4 on the XS10 connector. There is, however, not any voltage on these pins. I have tried applying 24V and 0V to these (jump pins #2&3 and pins#1&4 on XS10) but the outputs still do not work.

Based on the circuit diagram and the user manual, it seems like pins #3 and 4 on XS10 are designed as outputs ready for me to use and there should be voltage present without me having to jump anything on XS10.

Any thoughts what I should try next? It seems strange that the 0v and 24V pins on XS10 (#3 and 4) aren't providing anything. It is also strange that the status LEDS do not turn on when I toggle the output.

Thanks

On the power supply, X4, pin 2 is +24v for devicenet.  Pin 4 is 0v devicenet.
