DeviceNet Card major failure twice!

Hi,

We have a network with 4 IRC5 on the same devicenet network using DN_SLAVE. All the controllers has a different adress and the networks worked fine for months. The cards (DSQC-658) now having problems. 2 of the 4 cards broke in 3 weeks...??? The error is a lost of communication from the PC to theses cards and the robot enter in a failure mode. Sometimes, we rebooted the robot and it was working fine for hours...and the communication lost came back. We changed 2 of the 4 cards and we will like to know if someting can create a "burn" of these cards. The power is supplyied by an Allen Bradley 24V is really accurate. Can somethnig in the networks can create a break down of these card?

  • Wondering if you figured out what the problem is?

    I have a (fairly knowledgeable) customer that wants me to run DeviceNet via the user cables in the arm R2.CS and RS.CP plugs, which will put CANH and CANL in the same harness as outputs to solenoid valves.

    I have IRC5/IRB4400.

    Has anyone else done this and got away with it?
