I am very impressed with 2008. Very different but very good so far.  I see MS licensing is used.  Will the subscription change or is this just a very good move from 5.10 to 5.11?

    We are glad you like it. The subscription as such will not change. RobotStudio will still be provided on a yearly subscription basis. There will be some adjustments on the administrative level.

    There is one change, though, related to "unlicensed" functionality. The Online part will not require a license (comes with Minimal installation, and also Full of course), in addition basic VC functionality (similar to VIRC5) will also be part of the free functionality (requires Full installation). That involves starting a VC, watching the robot in the graphical viewer, and using the Virtual FlexPendant. But this is for the benefit of ABB robot customers, and our hope is that it will create a desire for more advanced offline programming features that require a full RS license.
