Is there a way to have Robot Studio 5.0 add the "robtarget" information into the instruction line instead of having the instruction line call a named robtarget?

In the Synchronize Window, select Advanced and then Inline=TRUE.

Yes, set the target as inline in the Sync to VC dialog:
