I bump this thread again.I want to get in contact with someone that have possibility to help me with a small program that will Get and Set data in our IRB6400R S4C-Plus controller.I do not feel to pay for the SDK for only one small app, the price was not nice.An ohter way maybe is to use OPC, we have WW-Server.Any one that worked with OPC and s4c-plus???0
What do you need exactly ? - please explain your small program functionality required...
I want some way of get and put data to the controller from a allready existing application. Guess that it should be possible to write some gateway like app.
I ask the gateway for value of "RotateX" and the gateway ask contoller and get the answer in return. And reverse I can tell the gateway to set "RotateX" to "90" and gateway will try to do that?I guess again, you only need a license when compileing the code???To run a compiled exe or use a dll you only need license in controller "148-1 FactoryWare Interface" Right???0 -
Hi
What do you call help ?Do you want a quotation to develop a SDK program ?=> Contact you local ABB representative with a requirements document for a quotationDo you want to use Webware SDK without paying the license, because it is too expensive ?=> I don't think a company like Metso would do that !May be contacting ABB After sales with explanation that you use already Webware server and describing what you would do would help having a better price on webware SDK ?Now if you only want to read write a variable , use OPC Server which is free if your robot has the factoryware interface. The web is full of sample. And if you install Webware SDK you wil even have a sample on how to use OPC with VBBuying webware help you having support for it and reward the work put on it.JC0 -
"Do you want to use Webware SDK without paying the license, because it is too expensive ?"First, I do not looking for a pirate copy... I am looking for a person or company that have the license and can help me with writing the code. Of course I am willing to pay for the resulting App/Dll..."Do you want a quotation to develop a SDK program ?"Yes, correctly."May be contacting ABB After sales"Allready done that and the price was to BIG, and no discount. If you are a company that program many apps or selling apps to others, then maybe the price can be OK. But writing this app to get only some values to/from controller it's to much."Now if you only want to read write a variable...."We have factoryware in our robotcontroller. Is OPC an alternative to SDK for only read/Write Num or bool???
Where can I find ABB OPC-Server, and who have WW-SDK and can send me the example??/Daniel0 -
HII will contact ABB Sweden to see if possible to do this developement, I will come back on that next week.It will be difficult to do a DLL , because the license will be activated when you include the dll in an other APP.For OPC server , if you have Webware server installed , then you already have the OPC Server included in the data Collector (for S4 robots)For Webware SDK download , you should contact After sales of your countryJC0

Have I understand you right...The InterLink Datacollector is also OPC-Server?And I can use that to Write/Read any of the num/bool etc. in the controller? Can you give me a link to some HowTo Example in C# or VB?About Dll:Ok, that is not a solution then.ABB Sweden:Ok, some one will contact me then?0

Hi DanielHere is a small OPC example I wrote in VB6 long time ago, so I don't remember what it did and I don't have VB6 anymore.
Maybe you could get something out of itPer Svensson

Yes Interlink is also an OPC server for S4 robots, and you can use it to read/write Persistent data and IO.As I said there is samples available for Webware SDK customersYou should contact ABB After sales in Sweden for a training day about these products and how to do it. Contact the person who sold you Webware server.JC0

I have now download a OPC-Browser. And there is one ABB IRC5 OPC Server. When browsing IRC5 server I only see one of our two IRC5-Robots.I do not see any s4c-plus server.

You have installed ABB IRC5 OPC Server which has nothing to do with Webware , it is an ABB IRC5 OPC Server only.
Try on the machine which is data Collector of your webware server installationJC0 -
Yes, thank you!Now I can see the S4 OPC Server. But now there is an other problem, but I take that in an other Thread and not today!I will look on Google for some OPC in C# examples./Daniel0
