Remote control of ABB system in real time?

Hi,

I happened to come across the remote control of ABB system in real time using the Robot Application Protocol (RAP). However, it seemed that RAP is only provided for S4 robot controllers.

I am currently using the IRC5 controller, is there any protocol (similar to RAP for S4C) that can be use for real time remote control of ABB robot system?

  • Has anyone found this?  I have not been able to.  I have an R & D project that requires real time control of an IRC5 with a joystick.  My first thought was to have the robot in a loop executing a move or moves that are being defined by a PC program.  Any ideas?
