What is the purpose of 'accdata'?

I am experimenting with acceleration settings and have discovered the 'accdata' data type in the FlexPendant Program Data screen. There are no predefined instances of accdata, but it is possible to create new instances. It does not seem possible to use an accdata instance as an argument for the AccSet instruction. 'accdata' is not listed in the data Types section of the Technical Reference Manual. What is its purpose?

  • See the motsetdata type, it is a member of this type. AccSet sets the accdata in motsetdata.

    Thanks Russell,

It appears to me that accdata in the Program Data screen is of no direct use to the programmer.

  • That's probably true. You may find that there are a lot of types available that don't seem to be usable. In some cases, these types need to be visible to work properly with editor applications, and in other cases maybe they could be made hidden but the developer just elected not to do so.

  • Hi Kevin,

You can affect some of the behavior of the movements. You can read more in ... "Technical reference manual - RAPID overview, section RAPID summary - Motion settings"
