Transfer data

Hi,

I wrote a program in visual basic.net for proccesing images acquired from a camera which this program measure some data from a (ABB )robot environment . This data must be sent to a RAPID program to decide for appropriate movement.

My problem is how can i send this data in the PC to the controller of the robot (COM port or ethernet)?(Sorry I need detailed information)
It means I have no information about this kind of communication .
