RobotStudio School Kit

I need to install a RobotStudio School Kit on a server. Does anybody know if there's any option or do we have to do something different during the installation (configuration, etc.) so the students will be able to practice with the software (get the licenses from the server) from each PC in the school laboratory? The School Kit is equivalent to 10 licenses or so.
Thanks!

  • The school kit is designed to do precisely what you are asking for, i.e. to get the RS licenses of the classroom from a server. The school kit comes with a 50 user license. Please follow the installation instructions of the Release Notes.

  • Hi, I'm running up RS School edition as well.
Basically you will need to install RS on every student's PC (client). Then, open RS and set the floating license option to "look" toward your license server on the network. It is faster to configure one PC image and "ghost" it to every student's PC

That's it for the clients PCs.

On the server side, you will need to install Sentinel wich is a license server app.

That's it for the server installation. (No RS installation on server)

Then you will have to activate the key license you received with the School package. This process will send a request to ABB wich will return a licence file to you. This file has to be installed to your license server from one of your client (student) PC with the Activation Wizard. The dialog can be found by clicking the RobotStudio application button (the round button in the upper left corner) and pressing ?__RobotStudio options?__. Then select ?__Licensing?__ in the left pane.

More detailed explanations on your "Welcome Letter".
