Teach Pendant locking up

Occasionaly I'll find a flex pendant on the production floor is locked up and I have to restart the controller to get it going again. The problem is not localized to a single unit and it only happens once every few months. Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening again? All of my machines are IRC5 and are using RW5.12.
