Cad Converter

I have the full license and have used the Cad Converter previously but now I am unable to see Catia files when I use the cad converter. Not sure what happened, but I have tried both V4 & V5 files and neither one shows up to select. I have read in the manuals about a .dll that can be copied to the Add In's but can not find the file.

Any Suggestions?

Verify that you have a valid license for the CATIA V4 and V5 converters (RS button -> RS options -> General -> Licensing -> View installed license keys ...)

 

Can you import the files directly to RS? (Import Geometry)?

OK, looking at the installed license panel the Catia licenses are expired. As far as importing Catia geometry the file extensions are not supported, so the files do not show up. I have read about the AssemblyImport.dll file but it appears there may be an additional license needed for that as well.

 

I will be needing to import Catia V5 files often, what are the options?

If you have the CATIA v5 converter license you do not need to bother about the AssemblyImport file. The functionality is integrated in RobotStudio. (use the CATIA v5 Assembly import filter in  "Import Geometry")
