I was told when you update Robot Ware on IRC5's you need to request a new license key sting or you may have problems. Is this true?

    It depends on the new vertion !

    If revition number is the same then it is OK to use the old key.

    If you for instance have 5.06.05  and  upgrade to 5.06.06. or 5.06.07 and so on.

     

    But if u go from 5.06.05  to 5.07.05  the I recommend you to read the releasinfo on the CD.

    from 5.08 and above some system need more memory or a new computer. read release information and send a question to ABB-support to be sure. Some new revisions can support old hardware, but somewhere in a revision track it will not work.

    if  5.05.05 work ok for you and then you upgrade to 5.05.06 then your system may not work,  but a later correction in 5.06.07 it is ok for your system once again and works fine! use the latest build release in your software track.

    Thanks for the info and not sure if you know or not but I'm having NFS communication issues during a backup to a remote server with a couple of robot's that have updated robot ware from 5.10 to 5.11 and was wondering if that might be the cause?
