Create a new System with an external axis

Options
Hi,

I tried to create a System with a robot mounted on a travelling axis, but i had no success.
I added a robot (IRB4400) and an external axis (IRBT4003), connected them, and i was able to move the robot on the axis manually. But when i tried to autoconfigure and run the targets i defined before (by teaching), it says out of reach. The robot moves, but the linear axis remains in its initial position.
Is there a manual, tutorial or whatever, where i can learn how to get this working? The instructions in the manual are so confusing, i read them, but did not find the part where i find a solution...

Regards, Matthias

I find robtstudio support of external axis is pretty bad. You have to manually set external axis position of each of your targets to what you want it to be and robotstudio offers no assistance other than telling you its not right with out of reach.

The function System From Layout is supposed to help you to set up this kind of system automatically. Please proceed as follows:
    1. Import an IRB4400 and a IRBT4003

    2. Attach the robot to the track

    3. Do any needed reposition of the libraries-

    4. System from layout

-> RobotStudio sets up a working system for you.

The AutoConfiguration function is supposed to support this setup.
