Deadman Switch Input?
in RobotStudio
Hi,
I am new to using ABB robots. I am setting up I/O through Devicenet for an IRC 5 Controller talking to a ControlLogix. In the past I have used competitors robots that have a specific contact that is used to monitor the state of the deadman switch. I use this in my PLC code to know if an operator has manually moved the robot, and determine the proper homing routine based on that. Does ABB have this?0

Hi,You could use a cross connection of the sytem output 'Auto On' being off (ie in manual mode), and 'Motors On' the resultant of this would mean that the enable (deadman) switch was closed.RegardsGraeme0
