Standard System I/O
in RobotStudio
Hi,
I am still learning the ABB software/configuration after being a longtime user of a competitor. The competition offers quite a list of system I/O that is predefined. To me this makes it easier as I can pick and choose what sort of information I am interested in interfacing to my PLC. For example, this would include busy, fault, heartbeat, program running, enabled, etc. Is there any sort of list of standard system I/O available in the ABB environment? We are using IRC5 controllers with IRB140 and IRB2400 robots. Thanks.

There is a lot of different system input and outputs that you could use. You can find it in the manuals under system input and system output

What manual do you recommend I look in? I do not have the robot in hand as it has been ordered but not received. The manuals I have are on a CD given by an ABB representative. Thanks.0

Technical Reference - System Parameters has most of what you want I think.mine is an older version but its doc ID is 3HAC17076-1 (RevE)1

The System Parameters manual is incuded in the RobotStudio help (the small round button in the top right corner). Look in the chapter "Topic I/O - Type System Input/Output".
