Newbie question: No robotware version
in RobotStudio
I've downloaded & installed RobotStudio 5.13.01, and read the help for creating a new system.
I ran through the tutorials to create a new system (IRB1600, 6kg, 1.2m was shown, so I tried that) , and was prompted to browse for a RobotWare version.
From the Robotware help, it looks like maybe this is in the folders in "MediaPool".
I looked in the various "info.txt" in each folder to see what each contained, and then chose one that referenced a single IRB1600.
No such luck (not a very helpful error message, either)
Next, I tried using the "system builder" wizard, select virtual key, and then choose one of the folders in "Media Pool", (I've tried this several times with different systems) e.g.
C:Program FilesABB Industrial ITRobotics ITMediaPool3HEA-000-00014.2x1400_250K
Note I've also tried telling it the whole media pool dir:
C:Program FilesABB Industrial ITRobotics ITMediaPool
No matter which system I choose, I find no available selections in "Robotware Version"--so I'm stuck here, too...
This seems such a fundamental function, I expect I'm missing something very obvious, but I don't see it.
What must I do to create a system in RobotStudio?
My immediate goal here is to simply use the RAPID editor in RobotStudio, since ProgramMaker is no longer available.
Notepad, Notepad++, and PSPad are somewhat less than ideal for RAPID editing...
Thanks, very much to anybody who can help!
Of course, if there is a way to still purchase ProgramMaker 4.3 (I think 4.5 was the final release, but 4.3 seems more common), that would be even better! I've asked ABB about that one, too, but it seems to be gone.

That was it!
I knew it had to be something fundamental.
Thanks, very much for your help; I've got the RAPID editor going now; much easier than notepad.
