5.12.02 "Thread Exception" failures

I am currently running RS 5.12.02 on a Lenovo W500 system with Win7 Pro
32 bit.  I have 4Gb of ram (system only utilizes 2.52Gb but recognizes
4.0Gb).  I am experiencing a "Thread Exception" error about every 10 to
15 minutes.  RS is the only application that is running and my memory
usage is constantly in the mid to upper 80% range.

What is the origin of the "Thread Exception" error.  I will upgrade to
the latest version of 5.13 within the next 60 days but I am currently on
a project and do not want to run the risk of changing software (of any
kind) until the project is completed.  Would a 64bit OS and more ram
solve this issue (assuming I were to continue using 5.12.02)?  Thanks in
advance.

  • Henrik, the issue was the lack of ram in my W500 with the size of the station I am programming on.  The station has a lot of geometries embedded in it and is just over 82 Mb in size.  I installed Win7 64 bit software and 8 Gb of ram and now have more than enough memory.  While I was running in the upper 80% to low/mid 90% ram usage with Win7 32 bit and 4 Gb ram (2.52 Gb usable), I am not seeing about 35% usage with 5.2 Gb available out of 8.08 Gb total.

It looks like my Lenovo W500 has the necessary power to run RS as I need it with the stations I have to program on.  Thanks.
