Interlink crashes [WebWare SDK]

Is there anyone who knows why Interlink crashes every now and then for us? It runs ok during normal operation but when one comes back early every morning it has crashed during night. The only thing that happens during night time with the application is that it pulls 4 robots at 200ms to look for variablechanges to which I have subscribed.

We are running webware 4.0 and have developed our own C# application. The robots are of s4plus versions and we have Win XP service pack 2.

  • Interlink 4.0 will crash intermittently on Windows XP Proffessional Service pack 2.

That is why it is not supported.

You need to upgrade to Interlink 4.5 to be able to run on WinXPsp2.

  • We still have problem with this. I have now installed webware 4.5 on our WinXP sp2. Could it be some memoryleak in Webware which cases this? Would be intresting to know if someone else has experienced this. As I sad, the application just sits there during non-working hours pulling four robots on their variables. We are using a D-Link switch in our small network.

    Regards.

  • Hi
If you change poll delay to for example 1000ms is there any difference?

If you watch interlink monitor for a while what are the values for last pool? If the value is more than pool delay most of the time you should increase pool delay.

  • Just checked it, last poll seams to be around 15 for the most. It peaked to 1962 one time while I was watching though. I changed it to 500ms now for all four robots.

If you change polling intervall for one alias it get changed for all aliases in the list = weard(bugg maybe)

Another question: What is going to happen with Webware in the future? The gosips says that it is not going to be any futher development.

  • Hi!

We have the same problem in several installations. The problem first occured in Interlink 3.0. At that time we were able to go back to 2.0 which solved the problem. We have tried to go back to Interlink 2.0 on WinXP SP1 and SP2 too. It works (no crashes) but it is not supported.

  • Hi
If you have the same profile for all Robots and you change poll delay all robots will get that poll delay.

And about the gossip, that is just gossip!

The last failure produced these codes

     "s2AppName interlink.exe"      "s2AppVer 6.60.32.0"     "s2ModNum ntdll.dll"     "s2ModVer 5.1.2600.2180  "

     We are using.

Interlink, and SDK 4.6 connected to s4cPlus Base ware version 118 and Windows XP SP2

Our average poll rate is 313 and very constant our maximum poll rate is set to 2000 with the min recorded as 47.

  • Hi all

I also have a problem when running the Interlink, i'm using the version 3.2 running under Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4. My problem consist that when i try to open the interlink (sometimes doesn't even open it) most of the times the robot that i've configurated has dissapear, so i have to configurate it once again.

This happens in more than one computer so i suspect that the problem is in the robot controller. Any susgestion of what can happen and how can i solve it?

    Regards

    Juan
