Working of Save As station
in RobotStudio
Hello,
Pls suggest me if any other alternative is der.
This may be a simple question. But dont ignore it, cos this will makes my simulation jobs easier.
I'm just giving an example of a case.
I have created a station with Robot 7600. I have lot of Geometries in my station. I created program and the simulation is working fine. I want to create one more simulation with same robot and keeping the same geometries, but location of geometries has to be changed a little and also the Robot Riser Height wll be differed. In this case i don't want to create a new station from the beginning or do remove system in the new station and import a new system to it neither to create a pack n go and unpack in different location.
Is it possible to do "Save As" in the old station and work in the new one without any problems. I think that since the system name in both the station is same it may create some conflicts.
I'm looking for a kind of option which allows me while doing "Save As" which asks me whether i should do Save As the system also by which it may avoid conflicts between the systems in first and second stations.
Pls suggest me if any other alternative is der.
Regards,
JJ

JJ,Use pack&go to pack up the first station - then unpack and work in a different subdirectory - this will allow you to simulate different "conditions" such as modified geometry and other riser heights. This way you also back-up your original - and can always unpack and work to start at square one.For different riser heights, you can simply modify the robots task frame to see what will happen with a different robot riser (dont forget to offset your targets / paths to accomodate the new task frame at the same offset difference).Hope this helps...TomThomas H. Hello Thomas,I understood abt this method. As i mentioned above in the query i dont prefer this method cos it always create lot of confusion (to me atleast) when i unpack it in different locations. Cos most of the times when i unpack (if it shows do u want to rewrite the fles), i try to create a new folder in the station folder. But when i try to open some station (using Ctrl+O) it shows only one directory. so suppose i have created lot of folders and unpacked the stations, it takes more time to look through each folders and find out the where the simulation is.Atleast if an option by which we will be able to modify the name of the system when we unpack will be great for me.Regards,Jipin0
