Hello

I am trying RS 5.14.01

One question: if I want to create a path from a curve, I have to choose AutoPath, but in this window
-I can insert only 2 curves
-I can't find options as for orientation of targets or offset, like in previous versions...

Can I change this settings in order to manage better path creations???

  • The main idea is that you do not need any curves now, instead you can click directly on the edge(s). It should be possible to select multiple curves. In release 5.14.01  there is a setting in Options:Graphics called "Gap" who decides the maximum distance between the curves.

    Creating a path from curve
    If the work piece has curves or contours that correspond to
    the path to be
    created, you can create the paths automatically. The create path from curve command
    generates paths,
    complete with targets and instructions along existing curves.
    The path will be created in the active task.The orientation of the targets that will be created will be
    according to the settings of the approach/travel vectors in the Options dialog box
    .
    To create
    a
    path from a
    curve, the curve must have first been created in the station. See AutoPath .


    As for the underlined lines, when I try to generate a path with AutoPath, I can't find the options (approach/travel,offsets...) as in the previous versions of RS...do these options exist? where?

  • Hi,
    The approach and travel settings that was in the old "AutoPath" does not exist in RS 5.14.
    But AutoPath use the global settings (which description is underlined in your mail) for the approach and travel vector. These settings will you find in "Options"  in the "File" tab, there they are placed under Robotics-Mechanism.

    I had already found the settings in File-Options-Robotics-Mechanism, but it is not what I was looking for..I only can't understand why approach,travel,offset settings have been taken off in RS 5.14, they were very confortable: I often used them for creating parhs along curves with desired orientations very quickly...

  • Hi,
    We took them away when a lot of users complained about that it was difficult to understand how they should be used, and that it was easier to reorient the targets after that the path has been generated.
    But after your input will we consider to bring them back in some way in future releases.
