OPC Server
Hello,
I am using two computers, both on LAN. Both have windows xp sp3. I am using RobotStudio 5.14.1. So, i install on one of the computers, opc server on second. But When i try to Scan for controller i can not even see it, not talking about accessing the data.. When i installed OPC server checked checkbox, which allowed DCOM configuration. Did not helped, so i tried this tutorial, http://badank.wordpress.com/2008/07/17/accessing-remote-opc-server-windows-xp-sp2-configuration/ It worked if OPC server and virtual controller is on the same machine, but not in the LAN.
I could easily just left OPC server on the same computer. But in real life, my controller is connected to network, and computer is on the other side of the building. So i really need get OPC communication get working through LAN.
Thanks, for every advice.

HiPlease find below the "check list" that I'm using when scanning for controllers fails:-Check the IP-addresses on the PC and on the controllers so they belongs to the same sub net.
-Test to disable all firewalls on the PC, both Windows internal and a possible additional firewall.
-Check that all the controllers are booted with option PC Interface.
-When you install OPC-server you get a question via a check box if the installation should configure the DCOM settings It's important that you check that check box i.e answers yes to the question.Lennart H0 -
