Fast Interrupt for SearchL

Dear Community,
 

documentation for the SearchL function advices to make sure, that the sensor is assigned to an input port on an E/A-Module for fast Interrupt (German: Interruptsteuerung statt Abfragesteuerung). Where do I find additional information on interrupt and the E/A-Module? There are four free sensor ports left, how do I check whether they are suitable for fast interrupt?
