FP 5.14 VS 2008

Hi all,
I've got a small question. I have only worked with PC SDK the last few years.
I was however now going to start development on a small FP SDK project. I however directly run into trouble. Directly when I'm creating the project I get the below error code:
I'm running VS 2008 Standard edition, which has worked fine for PC SDK development. When I'm studying the FP SDK 5.14 I however see that it requires VS Professional edition for FP SDK. Is that correct.
There seams to be no such demands for VS 2005, which I also use. But when I try to create a project there I can not choose version 5.14, only up to 5.13.
Is there anyone who could please inform me on how this is.

Hi Per,FP SDK requires Compact Framework, that is why the requirement is for the professional edition. Which is because the FlexPendant itself runs on the Compact Framework. Now what I find strange is that you say that "I can not choose version 5.14, only up to 5.13" if you chose a 5.13 project does that really work?If so do you have VS2005 and VS2008 on the same machine with Compact Framework in the VS2005? I don't remember in which versions Compact Framework was delivered in VS2005.John Wiberg2011-10-31 14:13:00John

Hi John,Thanks for the quick responce.Yes I have both VS 2005 Standard Edition, and VS 2008 Standard Edition on the same machine. But when I try to create a Flexpendant Project in VS 2005 I can only choose 5.08 up to 5.13I have not tried to actually do anything in VS2005 and a 5.13 FP project, as I suspect I get into trouble if I'm in the end going to run this on a 5.14 controller, as I am.I checked in "Control panel / add and remove programs", and it seams like I have the following compact frameworks installed:Normally this would not be a problem, as I would just get the Professional edition. But that now seams impossible, as that product no longer is sold./Per Malmqvist0

Since they have not included Compact Framework in VS2010 Microsoft has promised that their sales partners will help our customers downgrade a VS2010 pro to a VS2008 pro.
I've not verified that myself though so I don't know the actual procedure. So you would have to ask where you can buy VS2010 how to do that.John

According to Microsoft is it possible to get VS 2008 Professional from your usual retailer, in your case Dustin, or from something called "embedded distributors". If Dustin is unable to deliver please contact companies according to the link below.
