missing PC interface

Hallo.
For the communication with the PC is necessery to have instaled "PC interface". The guy from ABB say it cost 1000eur (). So my chef say it is not inportant for us. And the question is, how is possible to install it withouth paying so huge money.

    Lubo, I've communicated with the controller using RS232 and TCP/IP. For RS232 it is necessary to open the controller's door and search for a DB9 connector. For TCP/IP I use the RJ45 jack located near the usb housing, the same used for backup and file transfer. But I don't know if there is a specific robotware module you shoud have installed (and paid for) in order to acces these communitation ports in yous rapid program...
