  • In the Layout browser, right click on the object you would like to save as .rslib and select Save As Library:

  • First of all, thanks for your support.
Yes,this is a way to get .rslib but it is a very narrow way to creat it due to it depends on something has been already there then edit or modify something to choose you want to save as a .rslib.Otherwise,I have a project that the whole new parts and fixture for arc welding, which they aren't be found in ABBlibrary or others, for that, could you provide me with detailed method or reference manual to do?

In addition, If I get some gemetry can I make it to .rslib using your method? And Could you know RS 5.07 and RS 5.14 what is majored defference for that?

Thanks a lot and waiting for your repley.

  • Hi,

If you have the fixture and parts modeled in 3D CAD you simply need to import and postion them correctly in the station.

Note you will need to attach them to the postioner (if you have one) so they move with it when you are programing.

  • Hey Graeme,

Thank you for your help. It is a good useful way to start our project but I still worry about its result less than .rslib has. For example,"If the geometry does not have a mathematical representation some of the
functions in RobotStudio will not work, such as snap mode and creation of curves
from the geometr.".So now you know why I need to seek some way to creat .rslib file directly. That is very importment if we want to become a professional RS user I think.RS is a good tool but I find it is no easy or very difficulty to creat its component as a .rslib.

Anyway let me know something if possible.

    Many Thanks!
