I/O Simulator

I am having problems using the I/O Simulator, I don't really understand what's going on, but when I simulate inputs on one unnit, it lights up inputs on another aswell, which input I cannot control anymore. It also appears that putting the power on creates the sam kind of phenomen. I don't know if I am being clear, so here are a few screen shots. Does anyone know about this issue and how to solve it?

Did you check your cross connections?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
You can find it under System Parameters -> topics I/O signals -> (6) cross connections.
