please what is different

please what is different between kilo watt meter and kilo var meter in theory of work
as we know they have same construction and same shape

Comments

  • VA = measured volts X measured current. Watts = measured volts X measured current X cos Phi (angle between V and I) = real power. So if you put a VA meter on the feed to an electric motor you might read 1kW, if you replace it with a watt meter you would read 800W because the current and voltage are not in phase due to the inductive impedance of the motor. Thank you. :).ferdity2013-01-23 08:59:25
