Hello,
I have Quick Teach v 5.2, build 2135. When i ever try to start it, it displays a popup stating that the virtual controller is starting and waits indefinately. It never starts, but does not display any error messages or warning. Anyone can offer help as to how I can get it to start?

Hi
Do you have any SpyWare installed?? In most of the cases SpyWare refuse the Virtual Controller to start.
Do you have any of the WebWare Products installed?Per Svensson

I do have a couple spyware installed, but what do you mean by webware (from ABB?).
I will try to stop the spyware and see if it does anything. What do I have to do concerning webware?0 -
Hi
Yes WebWare is a product(from ABB) for Monitoring your robots. And there is a component that is shared between QT and WebWare and if that component is registered as a service you will see the same behaviour as you have.
But from your answer I guess that you don't have it so it's probably the SpyWare that get you into trouble.Per Svensson

Hello Pr,
When I shut down CounterSpy and tried to start RS, I got a message from symantec asking if I wanted to keep blocking the application or allow it to run. I chose to allow it, the VC started to boot then gave me a popup saying: "The instruction at "0x774df0b" referenced memory at "0x00000018", The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program".
What does that mean? and what can I do to make it run?
Thank you for your support.

Hi
Try a coldstart on the controller. You can force that in Virtual Robot browser.Per Svensson

How can I cold start a virtual controller?

Hi
In "Virtual Robot Browser" you have a checkbox "Warm Start" if you uncheck that one you will force a cold start next time you start the controller.Per Svensson

I still have a problem.
When I start QuickTeach, the screen displays but just says that the controller is starting but never does. It does not give any error message, just stays in the same state.
If I try to run ProgramMaker, it will not start. It pops up a message box stating that the virtual controller failed to synchronize and that it is closing the application.
Any suggestions?
p.s. I do not have any spyware application runniing.
Thank you
