I have read that RobotStudio allows robot programming to be done on a PC in the office without shutting down production.

There are many features in RobotStudio designed to increase your productivity in designing, engineering, programming, and commissioning robot cells.

 

One of the key features is the ability to make a fully-functional virtual copy of your robot cell and then work on this copy while the real robot cell is in production.  This not only avoids stopping the cell for programming, but also allows more advanced debugging of the program logic.  Depending upon the cell logic and I/O signals, there may be more or less work involved.

 

The 3D programming aspect saves time when programing complex motions against CAD modelled parts and fixtures, and saves time when engineering the cell to determine if the robot and tool can even reach the points.

 

In addition, RobotStudio contains an extensive RAPID robot program debugger, allowing breakpoints and stepwise execution through the levels of your robot programming.

The Signal Analyser allows you trace I/O signals, robot signals, and robot events to get a deep understanding of how your logic and motion work together.

 

Finally RobotStudio is the host to ScreenMaker (for building your own custom panels on the FlexPendant) as well as the PC SDK, for custom C# PC applications.
