S4 Backup Error

While trying to do a backup on a S4 controller, Error 10071 occurs.

The S4 manual states:   10071: Backup error

Error During the backup

Of %!%!%s

%s

Check:

%s

Can anyone explain this?

Warm start and deleting uneeded files from controller did nothing for me.  Looking  at recent backups on controller the folders are there but they at empty.

    Do you store at the harddisk?

    Correct.

    During the backup routine, when asked for a  file location if you use the default location or create your own i am told the folder is not empty.

    Yeah, problem sounds familiar. I've been struggling through this also. Workaround i found is to save to a floppy, and then copy it to the harddrive. That worked.

    I am familiar with this error also, we see this error when saving to a flashdrive that has been formatted incorrectly or has a filetype that the robot doesn't like. We format our flashdrives into 100 floppy disk blocks and save a Microsoft Word file to the first block containing all robot cell information. If we try to back up to disk block 1 we get the same error. Hopefully this helps..
